When in Doubt

To feel is a connection to enlightenment. If you feel pain, it also means you can feel relief. If you feel dissatisfaction, it also means you can feel accomplishment. This power may sometimes feel like a burden, as you catch yourself caring about everything very deeply, even when you don’t want to.

The point is to not stay stuck in these temporary feelings, because there is also power in just being. There is power in being mindful, and controlling these emotions as they come. Not suppressing them, but not letting them control you. With happiness there may come sadness, but both should be balanced by you.

In both moments of light and darkness, I write. Write down the positive, as well as the negative. The negative reminds you that nothing comes easy, the positive reminds you that there is always a brighter side. Write down your accomplishments, as well as aspects of yourself you want to improve. Words are powerful, they are a way to connect the dots between where you are and where you need to be.

I pray you don’t get caught up in the noise, because it can become all-consuming. You deserve to live, to stumble in order to learn lessons, and to fly in order to apply them. You deserve to give yourself everything that life has in store. It starts and ends with you, and enlightenment is just a corner away.
